Fall is here! In honor of the season changed I’ve decided to link up with Housewife Glamour to share some of my Fall Favorites and with Cynthia, Courtney and Mar whose Friday Five topic is Favorite Fall Activities. Fall celebrations all around on this beautiful Friday!
On the one hand I’m sad, because as an Island Girl I obviously love the summer and I always get a little down when the days get shorter and the clouds cover the sun. On the other hand, fall is the time for wearing scarves, boots and fun sweaters! My new favorite scarf is a beautiful teal-ish scarf with bicycles. My favorite color and bicycles? Yes, please!
Hiking is fun any time of year, but it’s extra fun in the fall, because I love watching the leaves change color and I am excited to start planning some fall excursions to the mountains.
I also really enjoy decorating and watching everyone else decorate their houses, for Fall, Halloween, and Christmas. It just makes you smile when you walk by a house decked out in fun decorations!
And of course fall is the time for pumpkins! I love pumpkins and am excited to start cooking and baking with pumpkins and other fall foods.
One of my favorite recipes is a recipe I learned from Elise over at Simplyrecipes.com and will be making this weekend. When I first started cooking, she was frequently my go-to blog and I learned some of my favorite recipes from her, including this delicious pumpkin cheesecake [Recipe here].
The most delicious way to eat this cheesecake is to top is with Elise’s caramel sauce, which is easy to make and delicious. Check out her Caramel Sauce Recipe.
I’m also a huge fan of Pumpkin Pie and once again Elise at SimplyRecipes.com taught me how to make a delicious pumpkin pie. Her pie crust recipe is fantastic and can be used for a wide range of pies, including her fantastic pumpkin pie.
What are some of your favorite fall activities? How about favorite fall recipes?
Yeah, I’ll BET that fall is a little different for you now… My favorite fall recipe is my chipotle turkey cranberry pumpkin enchiladas. I made it for Thanksgiving last year, and it seriously was amazing. I’ll never forget it!
YES to everything pumpkin and fall. Love the decorations! I too love to walk around and see them slowly appear throughout in the neighborhood. Thanks for linking up your favorites! Enjoy the weekend! 🙂
Oh that Pumpkin Cheesecake looks delicious — I am fan of Simply Recipes, so I may have to give that a try!
I love your bicycle scarf! Where did you find it? One of my favorite fall activities is going to the pumpkin patch, going through the corn maze, and then shooting a pumpkin out of the gigantic pumpkin cannon! Gotta love fall. 🙂
It was a gift and I’m drawing a blank on the name of the store. Shooting a pumpkin out of a cannon sounds like fun!!
Caramel sauce recipe….yum! That would be great over pumpkin cheesecake too:)
I love pumpkin white chocolate chip macadamian nut cookies! That was a mouthful.
Hmmm, that sounds delicious Jennifer!
love that scarf and um, YUM cheesecake!
